waiting... yet still going...

I have been home for about two months now, and though it seemed like I was waiting, I was definitely not just sitting around.

In the last two months, my family celebrated several birthdays; my brother's, some nieces, and my dad's. We also welcomed a new niece into the family, and we laughed and cried and welcomed a new brother when he and my sister got married. Those were just some of the personal things.

I've also had the opportunity to attend several church anniversaries, speak at church services or meetings, and meet some great women of God from the WMU, and from other churches. I also had the privilege of building relationship with some Yemenis women at a local center where they come to learn English and other life skills, as well as just have breakfast and make crafts together.

I say I've been waiting because I was still waiting on my next step. It's the number one question "what are you going to do now?" Though I have a million ideas running through my head, it is still a process to turn those ideas into a reality, and only God is the one who could make them happen.

One of the steps God is directing me towards is seminary. As I can considered all my options and talked with some people, I was being lead to go to Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. I visited one of their campuses and met with some of the professors and just had a peace about going to school there. Before I even left the campus I had completed half of the application, and within a week I had turned everything in. I didn't even apply anywhere else. Then on Tuesday June 1st I received my acceptance letter. I was so excited I was trying to register for my classes way before the registration was open to new students. So now I'm waiting again. But it's nice to see a glimpse of where I may be heading, and feel a little closer to what I think my purpose is -  to bring Jesus to people in the inner cities.
