About a month ago on June 14 I had a birthday. I started the celebration the weekend before by going to Chicago for a night with my cousin. We took a train there and back, and just did touristy stuff I haven't done in a while, like go to the Sears Tower (now known as the Willis Tower), Millennium park, museums and of course take lots of pictures of Chicago.
The celebration then continued on the day of my birthday going to the shooting range with my brother in law, then heading back to their home having lunch and blowing out my birthday candles with my sister and nieces.
It was later followed by a haircut, a much needed gift to myself, and then dinner with some friends and family.
We then finished off the day with a quick trip to downtown Detroit, and then back home.
Overall it was a simple celebration, but it was nice to be back and get to spend it with family and long time friends - it's been 4 years since that's happened.
