The Journey Continues

Hello friends and family, it has been awhile since I last updated this blog, and since then God has taken me on quite a few adventures.

I moved out to the Bay Area mid January, and have just completed my first year at seminary. I had two classes this summer that had us exploring San Francisco, making me love the city more an more.

I also got involved with a new church plant in the city called New Community. We are getting ready to launch in October, and have been busy preparing, and excited about how things are coming together. I believe God has amazing things in store for us in reaching San Francisco, especially in the Sunset District where our church is located. I would love for you all to be a part of it. You can come out for a visit, come worship with us or join us during one of our community outreach events, and you can also join us by praying. Please pray for us as we prepare to launch. Please pray for the leadership team as we plan, and try to learn the needs of our neighbors. Please pray for more people to come to learn about Jesus, to join us in worship and building up community. Please pray for those who desire to get involved with church planting and reaching the city to come along side us and join us on this venture. Pray that we can be people of love and compassion, and to truly love the people of San Francisco.

In addition to school and church, I have continued to keep up with the work going on in Mali, West Africa. In fact I have just been given an opportunity to help out with a training that will go on next month in San Diego, CA. I will get to go down there for a week and meet and help train the new teams that will head to Mali within the next few months. Please pray for that training, and please pray for the teams as they prepare to go.

I also have another amazing opportunity to actually go back to Mali West Africa for twelve days in January 2012. I will get to be a part of training these same teams on their next step after being in country a few months. I also hope to visit at least one or two of the villages I lived in the last couple years, as well as visit other villages our teammates where at. Please pray for preparation for the trainings, that the other trainers and I can recall what we have learned and need to teach the other teams. Please pray even now as we are working out flight arrangements, and of course finances, passports and visas that they will all be in order when it is time to go. Please continue to pray for the Maninka people, and that the stories we have left are being told and spreading across the Maninka villages. Please pray as I hope to follow up with them, that there will be more opportunities to share stories from God's word

Thank you for staying on this journey with me, and for all your prayers and encouragements.
