A Glimpse of Goodbye

Last Monday (Feb. 22nd) we packed up everything, and I mean EVERYTHING including the kitchen sink, from our house in the village (Archenland), and moved into a house in the Capital. Prior to the move there have been some disagreements with our landlord in Archenland, and though we tried to work with him to come to an understanding, it just wasn't working out and seemed like it was getting worse. We talked it over with Pastor, and some of our leaders at our office, and our other colleagues, and it was decided that it would be best if we moved out now and worked from the Capital instead. Overall Kacy and I agree that this moved was for the best, since we've been working out of the capital more anyways due to increasing amount of computer work as we try to finish up our story set.

It was sad however all the trouble Pastor and his family encountered because of this situation as he was the main one trying to work things out for us. It was also sad to leave our host family and neighbors behind even though we would only be a little over 1 and 1/2 hrs away. To them since we're moving away, they weren't sure when they'll see us again. It was almost like saying goodbye as if we were leaving the country.

We plan to still spend some time in Archenland and just stay with Pastor and his family for a few nights at a time, or even up in the Goonies with Andrew and his family. We hope to continue sharing the Stories with our friends in those villages and perhaps even in the surrounding villages.

Right now what we're trying to work out is how we can continue recording stories with Andrew. In the past we've set up a studio in our house in Archenland, but now that wouldn't be possible. What we would like is to set up a studio in the house we're staying at in the Capital and hope to just bring Andrew in and work with him recording what's left of our stories over a consecutive amount of days. We hope to do this in the beginning of March, and then once they are all done we can be done with the recording process, and focus the rest of March up to the time we leave the field, to be with our people in the villages and hopefully distributing stories on cassettes.
