VOTE! VOTE!

2 Sundays ago, April 26, was Voting Day all over Mali. They were voting for a new mayor. Now you know you're in an oral country when it doesn't really matter if the posters are upside down or right side up. All that matters is if you know the colors and the pictures that go with it and which party it represents.

Weeks before Voting Day people were busy getting ready for THE day. Many of our friends who worked at the mayor's office, or at the school as teachers or directors, and even Pastor Sam were put in charge of getting voting day organized. Pastor especially was made the president of the voting committee and put in charge of the whole thing. It speaks a lot of his character and what God is doing in his life to be the only one the whole town can trust and rely on to keep things fair and in order.

On voting day everyone showed up; the men, women, and children, they all came, some to vote, others just to be there. It was a big event. I think it's bigger than our voting days in America.
